Upton, 37 says, “ I interviewed seven ex- members in all, and while a few had some negative things to say, almost all were unanimous in their praise of Lawless’ work ethic, his musicianship, and his dedication”.

“Whoever started these rumours hadn't read a single word of what had been written”, Upton continued. “ I have been a massive fan of W.A.S.P. for 24 years, since the age of 13. What would be my motivation to present Blackie in a negative way? I wrote the book first and foremost, because I was curious about the history of W.A.S.P., and more importantly, where Blackie came from”.
